Motorica has developed a transformer-based AI model trained on thousands of hours of proprietary motion capture, capable of generating high-fidelity character animation at scale. Animation is one of the most time-consuming and expensive parts of production, and Motorica can enable cost reductions exceeding 90 percent of the animation budget.
Why we invested
Character animation remains one of the last, most complex creative frontiers yet to be fully transformed by AI. The workflow hasn’t evolved much since the early 2000s: motion capture studios, actors in suits, dozens of cameras, hours of post-processing. Motorica changes all of that by producing AAA-quality motion at a fraction of the time and cost, enabling animation that’s 200x faster and 100x cheaper than traditional methods. This team is enabling a paradigm shift, and we did not want to miss being apart of it.
